Leon Fanourakis unveils his new single titled EXPRESS today, Thursday, August 29, created in collaboration with Australian producer Taka Perry. A music video accompanies this release, marking their first collaboration in nearly three years following the success of their 2021 track “1234“. For this new piece, the two artists captured the sounds of trains running through Tokyo, skillfully incorporating them into the composition. On a production driven by intense percussion and impactful samples, Leon Fanourakis delivers a rap that is both smooth and sharp, creating a palpable tension and a harmonious fusion of their respective talents. The result is a dark and emotionally charged track. The artwork for this project was entrusted to Kentaro Yoshida, a Japanese artist based in Australia. The video, meanwhile, is steeped in a mysterious and intriguing atmosphere and was designed by RED MOONS, a video production team based in Amsterdam. EXPRESS also marks Leon Fanourakis’ grand return as a solo artist, his first new song in two years. This track is the centerpiece of the collaborative EP between Leon Fanourakis and Taka Perry, titled “THE GRIFFIN TAPES“, set to be released in October. We eagerly await further revelations surrounding this promising project.
