A creative duo in Fukuoka is ready to mark their grand return with a highly anticipated album.
Mahina Apple, singer, and MANTIS, producer and beatmaker based in Fukuoka, have just unveiled their new single “Garden”, This release marks the beginning of a new musical chapter for the duo as they prepare to launch their collaborative album “Signals” on Wednesday, May 28, six years after their previous joint project “Sign” (2019).
“Garden” was born from creative alchemy. This seasonal track comes from a piece Mahina Apple particularly appreciated on MANTIS’s solo EP, “Summer Grass EP“, released last year. The lyrics emotionally evoke the passage of time and how precious memories accompany us as we open the door to new stages of life. While the song addresses crossroads and existential conflicts, it also instills the courage to embark on new beginnings.
The album “Signals,” scheduled for May 28, explores emotions and memories that evolve with time and the countless “signals” that guide us toward the future. Developing an even deeper sonic universe than its predecessor, “Sign“, the album offers introspective lyrics that gently question the listener’s soul.
