Initially produced in 2008 by DJ PMX for his album THE ORIGINAL, this song is a timeless reference in Japanese hip-hop. By reviving it today, YZERR and the new generation of artists breathe new life into this classic, anchoring it in a new musical era and taking DARK HERO to another level.
After the legendary group BAD HOP disbanded following their historic concert BAD HOP THE FINAL at TOKYO DOME on February 19 last year, YZERR fully embarked on his solo career as an artist and an entrepreneur. His first album consists of 13 tracks and boasts an impressive lineup of producers, including ZOT on the WAVE, Big Papito, Dissan, Haboo, GXHA, ineedmorebux, Chef ZG, and DJ PMX. This carefully curated production team brings a dynamic and cutting-edge sound to DARK HERO, ensuring it resonates nationally and internationally.
YZERR has also gathered some of the biggest names in Japanese rap for his debut solo project. Awich and LEX deliver electrifying performances, particularly on the track Charisma. Rising star eyden also makes a strong appearance. At the same time, LANA, JP THE WAVY, and ¥ellow Bucks join forces for the exceptional reimagining of Miss Luxury, once again produced by DJ PMX. This collaboration bridges generations of Japanese hip-hop, blending nostalgia with a fresh, modern approach.
Born in Kanagawa in 1995, YZERR made his mark on Japanese hip-hop early on. In 2014, he founded BAD HOP with classmates from his neighborhood in Kawasaki, an industrial area often regarded as one of Japan’s most prominent ghettos. He established himself as a significant force in the Japanese music scene with his hard-hitting lyrics inspired by his rise and everyday struggles and a cutting-edge musical style that was ideally in sync with US trends. As the mastermind behind BAD HOP, he was responsible for the group’s artistic quality and strategic direction, helping to turn it into a phenomenon. Now, with DARK HERO, YZERR proves that he has lost none of his ambition and continues to redefine the standards of Japanese hip-hop.
