AWOL CARTEL Returns with Their Second EP "W TAPE"

AWOL CARTEL is a collective formed naturally through mutual attraction between its members, united by shared values and talents. Comprised of NF Zessho, RAITAMEN, and Yuya Sato, the group is known for the intensity of their songs and the rap that defines their style. While their existence has been shrouded in mystery for many years, the truth began to emerge with the release of their first EP, “A TAPE,” in November last year.

“W TAPE”: A Rich and Eclectic Sonic Work

The new EP, “W TAPE,” brings together contributions from talented producers such as Yoshinuma, DJ SCRATCH NICE, hokuto, FKD, and Kuntzo. The album features five tracks and a remix, including a reimagined version of “retrospectivity”, an iconic piece initially released in 2009. This track has been reborn in a new form, showcasing the members’ poetic writing and technical skills.

Looking Ahead: Two New EPs and a Performance in Shibuya

AWOL CARTEL is pursuing an ambitious project to release two more EPs titled “O TAPE” and “L TAPE,” completing the initials of their name, AWOL. At the same time, the group is preparing for a highly anticipated performance at the “OKAY DAY” event, scheduled to take place on February 10 at the renowned WWW venue in Shibuya, Tokyo. With “W TAPE,” AWOL CARTEL continues to push the boundaries of lyricism and sonic experimentation, solidifying their position as one of the most intriguing and innovative collectives on the current music scene.
