April 23, 2025, marks the release of “PAGE ONE“, the first-ever collaboration between acclaimed artists 唾奇 (Tsubaki) and Kohjiya, created exclusively for the POP YOURS 2025 festival. This powerful track explores the encounters, separations, and conflicts experienced during their rise in the music industry, perfectly capturing the pride and determination of these two major talents in contemporary Japanese rap.
Tsubaki and Kohjiya, Two Artists at the Peak of Their Careers
唾奇 (Tsubaki) has established himself as an essential figure in the hip-hop scene with projects that have become classics, including the album “Jasmine” produced with Sweet William and the single “愛のままに” (Ai no mama ni) in collaboration with BASI. After a period of relative silence, he made a notable comeback in 2025 with “南無阿弥陀仏” (Namu Amida Butsu), his first solo single in years. His highly anticipated participation in the POP YOURS festival is scheduled for DAY 2 of the event.
Meanwhile, Kohjiya has experienced a meteoric rise since winning the “ラップスタア 2024” (Rap Star 2024) competition. His fame quickly transcended the boundaries of the underground music scene, as evidenced by his 2025 collaboration with Pocari Sweat, for which he composed a track for a national advertising campaign. Like 唾奇, Kohjiya will perform on DAY 2 of the POP YOURS festival.
“PAGE ONE” joins the original productions from the POP YOURS festival, which has already spawned several notable collaborations in recent years. In 2023, the festival presented “Makuhari” by Bonbero, LANA, MFS, and Watson, while in 2024, festival-goers discovered “明るい部屋” (Akarui Heya) by LEX & LANA, as well as “Champions” by Kaneee, Kohjiya, and Yvng Patra.
