A few months after the dissolution of the group Kandytown, IO is gearing up to deliver their highly anticipated fourth album. Following a four-year hiatus since their last work, “Player’s Ballad“, IO is returning with promises of new sounds and unique rhythms. The exact release date and project details will be announced later, but fans will get a taste of the album with the early release of the song “Honto” in collaboration with rapper Watson from Tokushima on Friday, August 4th.
IO began its solo career by releasing its debut album “Soul Long” on February 14, 2016. Since then, they have made a mark in the music industry, delivering remarkable performances during club tours across the country and participating in various music events such as NIKE’s “AIR MAX DAY”, “Sanpin CAMP20”, “TAICO CLUB”, and “SPACE SHOWER Twilight Shower Vol.2”. Their unique style and ability to explore different genres have earned them a dedicated fan base in the music scene.

On April 19, 2017, IO released its second solo album, “Mood Blue“. Before this project, they participated in an Apple Music campaign alongside other artists like Suchmos, Boku no Lyric Boyomi, and iri. An art exhibition in collaboration with Mr. Takuya Ueoka, who had previously worked on the album cover, was also held at SO1, a gallery in Harajuku. This exhibition showcased their creative aspect, further enhancing their reputation among art enthusiasts. While the details are being kept under wraps, the announcement of the song “Honto” with Watson from Tokushima has already heightened the excitement surrounding the upcoming album.
